Porcelain Veneer Options
Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra, Oakleaf, Orange Park
Porcelain veneers are not a one-size-fits-all solution. Your veneers will be custom-made and you will work closely with Dr. Blankenship in choosing their features.
Custom crafted veneers
The color and shape of your veneers will be based on the color and shape of your natural teeth with some variations depending on why you need dental veneers.
When used to correct the shape or size of a tooth Dr. Blankenship will stay as close to the natural shape of your tooth as possible, consistent with making the correction. Your veneers will be designed to enhance your natural beauty, and will be shaped appropriately to blend in with the rest of your teeth, your smile’s contours, and your facial shape.
The color of your veneers will be perfectly matched to the surrounding teeth. If you plan to whiten your teeth, Dr. Blankenship will recommend doing that before creating the veneers so that he can match your veneers to your new bright color.
The finest materials and craftsmanship
As a Fellow of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), Dr. Blankenship has expert training in working with very thin porcelain veneers, creating the most beautiful design, and preserving as much of your existing tooth as possible.
Dr. Blankenship uses Empress Veneers, for the best color and strength and for life-like results. The highly skilled artists at Williams Laboratory will create your veneers based on his specifications.
Other options
If a tooth is severely damaged or decayed, if there is a large portion of the tooth missing, or a very large gap, porcelain veneers may not be the best option for you. When this is the case, Dr. Blankenship will explain your other options and why they would be better.
You may need a tooth crown, dental bonding, or a dental implant instead. A crown is often used to provide strength when a tooth is weak or damaged. Bonding can replace more missing tooth material than veneers.
If discoloration is the only problem, Dr. Blankenship can tell you if teeth whitening is the answer. Teeth that were resistant to older methods of whitening sometimes respond to newer, more advanced technology.
Please contact our Ponte Vedra or Oakleaf offices today to schedule your complimentary cosmetic consultation and find out if porcelain veneers are the right option for you.
